EDITORIAL

Even though festive holiday high season is now officially over we remain jubilant, celebrating from the news that Karma Jimbaran has recently been voted number 1 in the Jimbaran area on Trip Advisor (with enthusiastic reviews!). Big congratulations and thanks once again to the Karma Jimbaran team for a job well done.

We had a very successful and fulfilling Valentine’s Day weekend, one that coincided with the Chinese Lunar New Year and our love for food! We brought in the Year of the Tiger roaring with visiting chef Kate Lamont who, along with wine aficionado John Jens and Karma chef Simon Blaby took us on a tour gastronomique over two days that brought together fine dining and fine wine for quite a few tasty matches made in heaven. While still to come at the end of February is our Bali, Bach and Bordeaux feature that brings together five Chateaux, four violin strings, and five courses for a feast of the senses. A perfect tie in with the opening of our new Veritas wine bar at Karma Kandara where sampling is actually encouraged.

On the Karma beach front, we will soon be opening our first North American location with Karma Bahamas, while at Karma Kandara, Nammos Beach Club underwent a proper facelift with the introduction of a whole new set of furnishings that only further complements the beach club’s already refined cabana aesthetic. And speaking of aesthetics, Karma Spa has announced that it will be introducing a new series of medicinal massages that are engineered to improve circulation and even reduce cellulite. Imagine that, feeling good with a massage that also makes you look good. We should work on a patent for this!

On a final note, although the season of giving has passed let us remember our good fortune and take a pause for the cause. Karma’s live benefit auction, with all proceeds to be awarded to the Hope for Haiti Foundation, is going on at this very moment. Help us help Haiti in her time of need.

NAMMOS REDUX

Since its inception in 2008, Nammos Beach Club has emerged as one of the most talked about beachfront venues in the Pacific Rim. It’s not difficult to see why – sugary white sand, a pellucid lagoon, a funicular ride down 80 metres of limestone cliff and Karma’s signature style and service has got to be a winning combination. So how could we possibly improve on all that...?
