It is my great pleasure to once again take my place in the editor’s seat after a brief hiatus, during which time I have barely had a chance to sit down at all, having taken on the role of General Manager at Karma Jimbaran! I’m also pleased to be able to bring you a bumper edition of the Karma Chronicles this month, as we look forward to the festive season, bring you a host of very special offers, report on happenings across the Karma network and generally take you on the inside track of all things Karma.
The upcoming festivities will stretch across 18 days – you’ll find a blow-by-blow account of the main events, though be sure to carefully scrutinise our spa section, which offers a myriad of ways in which to work off that plum pudding or smooth away the kinks caused by nights spent cutting the rug. This Christmas and New Year’s will also provide a swan song for our award winning chef Raymond Saja – don’t worry, he’s not leaving us, just the island of Bali. Raymond has been appointed the new General Manager at Karma Samui and in the interview below he shares with us some of his immediate and long-term goals for the resort.
We have a packed news section this edition, with four talented new individuals joining the Karma family and some exciting new partnerships and initiatives. We offer a sneak peek of the new Wine Bar at di Mare restaurant, utilizing technology never before seen on the island of Bali. We’re also thrilled to be able to bring you some amazing special offers.
The festive season is almost upon it. And yes, we’re feeling festive. We hope you’ll join us in celebration.
Esperanca Patricio
Group Administration Director, South East Asia

Since joining Karma Resorts five years ago, Raymond Saja has had a tremendous – and unequivocally positive impact on the brand – notably, by exciting the taste buds of thousands of our guests and owners – and staff for that matter. But he’s also been responsible for creating dynamic events and other management successes people may be less familiar with. Which is precisely why he is taking up the General Manager mantle at Karma Samui…but don’t worry, food is still high on the agenda...
