The last month was a fruitful one for our Karma celebrity spotters. Particularly those with a penchant for rugged and ripped young sportsmen.
 |
The most notable name to crop up on the Karma guest register last month was a certain Tim Horan. Anyone with a passing interest in the noble sport of Rugby Union will know that Horan is a legendary Australian international widely regarded as one of the great centres of all time. During the nineties, Horan enjoyed two World Cup wins with Australia, the second of which in 1999 saw him honoured with the player of the tournament award. |

Also spotted at Karma Kandara was Haig Sare, a member of the Western Forces team and another hugely talented centre who has represented Australia at both Under 21s and A level...and was very popular with all ladies at the resort. |

At Karma Samui were the next generation of rugby union stars – James O’Connor, Quade Cooper, Ben Whittaker, Justin Turner and Dane Haylett Petty, all of whom are members of the Perth based Western Forces team. O’Connor is being touted as the next Tim Horan and has played centre and full back with Australia since 2008. In Australia’s international with Italy in June this year, O’Connor scored a hat trick of tries.
Since its debut in Australia’s Super 14 league back in 2006, the Western Forces team has made tremendous strides and is already a serious contender, narrowly missing out on the finals in 2008 with an 8th place.
