It may be my imagination, but there seems to be a more festive atmosphere than ever on both the islands of Bali and Koh Samui this August. The anticipation in the air is palpable. Perhaps it’s the pressures of the global credit crunch, but people just seem to have been looking forward to a right royal tear up this summer. Karma is happy to oblige of course – Karma Kandara is hosting a high profile series of parties featuring such luminaries as disco and house diva Julie McKnight and Sydney house music maestros Johnny Rad and vocalist Ashley Macado.
We report on our Million Dollar Disco party on 15th August, more of which in our events section. We also bring news of the latest Karma Collection property to come online – a magnificent six-bedroom cliff top residence in Mykonos that combines classical styling with top of the line contemporary amenities. Then there’s the newly revitalized Karma Jimbaran, which reopened last month – we talk to spa curator Judy Chapman about the new look Karma Spa Jimbaran. We also say goodbye to Jorge Monje and welcome Robert Ring as the new General Manager at Karma Kandara. Congratulations also to Esperanza Patricio, who has been appointed the new General Manager of Karma Jimbaran.
