Karma Chronicles

EDITORIAL

Bali is a hive of activity right now. We're not just talking about the tourists (economic crisis? What economic crisis?), but also the flurry of infrastructure projects that have been underway recently. Most welcome for many are the road improvements (though patrons at Karma Kandara will still have to wait a while before the potholed track that winds through the limestone bluffs gets repaired).

And with the island's high season officially getting underway, Karma has a host of exciting developments to report on. July sees the re-opening of Karma Jimbaran – this edition, Warren Mead introduces his brand new food concept which guest will soon be enjoying at the resort's new eatery, Mead's at Karma Jimbaran. We also bring you a feature on Rock Pool, the recently added bar/lounge/sunset deck at Karma Samui, which is fast becoming a favourite hang out on the island.

We also welcome on board two new senior managers – Robert Ring will be taking the reins at Karma Samui as the new general manager while Julie Beattie assumes the crucial Director of Sales & Marketing position for Karma.

Karma Spa curator Judy Chapman reports on yet more exciting additions to our burgeoning spa brand – from a new temple treatment room to the soon to be revealed facility at Karma Jimbaran. No wonder Karma Spa was recently listed in Conde Nast Traveller's Hot List for 2009.

As always, it's all happening at Karma.

Then last year came RockPool, which added a whole new dimension to this heavenly venue...
