May 2nd, 3rd, 9th, 10th Saturdays and Sundays DJ PEE WEE FERRIS DJ Pee Wee Ferris bears the mark of a true dance music pioneer in his native Australia. The Sydney music man has been at the vanguard of the antipodean electronica scene for more than 15 years, both as a live performer and producer. His presence is ubiquitous at all of Australia’s major dance music festivals, including the Big Day Out where he’s been a headline act since 1996. He’s played alongside of the world’s biggest dance acts and brands, from Chemical Brothers to God’s Kitchen to Gatecrasher, as well as touring extensively around the globe. His preeminent moment as a producer came when he was asked to come up with the soundtrack that would accompany the Sydney Olympic Games opening and closing ceremonies in 2000 – though you’re as likely to hear his techy and trance driven productions in club settings as at the many public performances he’s asked to score. And if it’s not enough to judge him on his career, just check the accolades - Ministry of Sound magazine voted him one of the 25 most influential people in the Australian dance scene, while Juice magazine voted him one of the top 25 DJs in the world. Expect a mix of uplifting, high NRG and Trance, but also some atmospheric eclectica more suited to sunsets from the Aussie trailblazer.
