New Faces at Karma
Karma hit the ground running in 2009 with the two new appointments to key positions within the company. Welcome Jimmy Kwan, Group Director of Sales & Marketing for Karma Resorts and Edi Yasanta, Reservation and Revenue Manager...
Jimmy Kwan is a veteran of the travel industry with no less than 25 years of experience under his belt. A consummate high flier, Kwan's previous position was with Banyan Tree Hotels & Resorts, where he headed up the company's sales strategy as Director of Global Sales. Similarly impressive was his five-year stint as Group Director of Sales with Raffles International, while he was also part of the Opening Teams for Hyatt Regency in Indonesian and Malaysia and Swissotel Bangkok.
Edi Yasanta has amassed more than 10 years of experience in hotel reservations, holding various positions in five star resorts including The Legian, The Club at The Legian, The Chedi Club and Sheraton Laguna, all in Bali.

Karma Wine Club.. Coming Soon
Owners and resort guests with a penchant for the good grape (which we'd venture is the vast majority) will be excited to learn that Karma Collection is soon to launch its wine club. Whilst Karma guests have never lacked for an excellent bottle of pinot or chardonnay, Karma chairman John Spence is keen to elevate wine culture within Karma Collection to new levels of connoisseur-ship. Karma Wine Club is still but a working name and the program of activities is still being developed with the help of some of the world's most respected Sommeliers, but suffice to say we'll be opening up a heady and aromatic new world of vini-cultural happenings, from exquisite wine pairing dinners that bring together the world's finest chefs and sommeliers, to regular wine showcases, hand picked selections from chairman John Spence's world class personal cellar and “around the world in a glass" tasting odysseys. And that's just a little soupcon of what's to come…

Karma 2.0
After some intensive and ingenious brainstorming from our creative and technical team, the new look Karma Kandara website is online at last. This will provide the template for all Karma Resorts for the immediate future, though of course we will continue to stay one step ahead of developments in the digital ether...here's a quick look at what's new with Karma 2.0...
The new Karma Kandara website is both easy to navigate, easily digestible yet packed with up to date information on happenings at the resort. Instead of having to move laboriously between separate pages, the new website allows you to get an immediate impression of Karma Kandara from the very first page. Simple drop down menus offer sound bites on everything from food to weddings to Nammos Beach Club. And if you want to read more, simply click on the MORE button and you'll be taken to a new page. Images have been gathered together in an extensive, easy to view gallery section, while the 360 degree virtual tours are the closest experience to actually being there. Updated regularly with special offers and filled with evocative images of the resort, the new website is both the perfect on line resource and a vivid depiction of one of the world's most sought after destinations.

Good Karma Samui
The staff of Karma Samui like to do their bit to maintain Koh Samui's reputation as an island paradise. That's why they regularly take part in cleaning efforts within the local community. “We usually go out to clean the temples near our resort, like Wat Plai Laem. It's a famous place in Koh Samui," says Kop Khun Kha
Nok of the human resources department. “Thai people believe in Karma – if you do good you will get the good back. Some months we join with other resorts for cleaning, planting and other activities." Good Karma indeed.
